blame it on the snowquester?

i hope you don’t hate me.homemade tacos

i mean i hate myself a little for not posting in like 3 months. okay, maybe not 3 months, but it’s been a while. its like baked spaghetti boy comes back and i forget how to bake! but before we talk about that can i please tell you what a tease today was?!

this snowquester, was so stupid! i went to bed late thinking i would wake up to a foot of snow and i could sleep in and “telecommute” and catch up on my dvr and the bachelor, all in my pajamas! like hello, i haven’t even watched all of the women tell all?! so when my mom texted me at 6:30am  (love you mom!) asking if i was prepared to be snowed in i jumped out of my bed and ran straight to the window. and by run to the window i mean i rolled over and pulled the blinds back to look out of the window *studio living* and nothing. not one damn flake of snow to be found.his tiny taco

no sleeping-in here. i’m pretty sure i’m the only person in dc who actually had to go into work today. on time mind you. i even packed a bag with my snow boots, food, water, and a book just in case we closed early and i had to take the metro home and it got stuck and i needed all that stuff. well i can now tell you that arlington, va got exactly zero inches of snow. snowquester = fail.

hers perfect taco tower

i’m snowless, boyless, dinner-dateless, and behind on the bachelor. someone please talk me off the ledge.

in other domesticourted worthy news, i did cook quite a bit over the past couple weeks AND baked spaghetti boy wanted me to tell you that he cooked twice!! what?!?! i’ve got to give it to him, the boy knows how to cook some meat!! perhaps i will keep him around. i can’t cook a piece of meat to save my life, i think this could be a perfect match! steak dinner

i know all the pictures are terrible, stupid lighting, but you still had to see the great meals we accomplished together. while at the grocery store getting food he said something about mac’n cheese, of the kraft kind. pa-lease! i can make a mean mac’n cheese and i can’t believe i’ve never told you about it. so here it goes…

baked macaroni rigatoni and cheese

1 lb rigatoni, cooked

2 tsbp butter

2 tbsp flour

1/2 cup milk

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)

pinch of salt and pepper

2 cups monterey jack cheese, shredded

1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded

cook rigatoni in boiled water for 3-4 min less than package states. drain and return to pot.

preheat oven to 350 degrees. spray 8×8 with non-stick spray and set aside.

melt butter in pan and add flour, stir until creamy. add milk and stir until thickened, about 3 minutes. add garlic, cayenne, and salt and pepper and mix. add cheese and stir until all cheese is melted. pour mixture over cooked noodles in pot and mix.

pour noodles into greased pan and cook for 20-25 minutes.

eat, because this is seriously the best rigatoni and cheese EVER!rigatoni'n cheese
