moving on…

alright, i’m over it.photo 1[1]

but not really. i’m sure i will continue to whine about it for like the next year.

what helped me get over it? not the support of my loving family and friends. after my cable provider has ticked me off for the 2nd time in 24 hrs, i am left to watching dvds. which in fact was perfect because i get to watch my all time favorite christmas movie…love actually.photo 2[1]

i have already cried 3 times, rewound to watch huge grant dance to jump and then repeated “i hate uncle jamie” in my best english accent like 100 times! i. love. this. movie! best part is coming up too! that’s how i got over my loss.

now that i’m in a good mood, i can tell you what i made at the cookie bake off that lost… chocolate chip cookie sandwiches. i know, you can’t believe i lost either. what the heck! i used a different chocolate chip cookie recipe which was the bomb dot com. (yeah i just said that) and piped the icing on. if that doesn’t have blue ribbon written all over it i don’t know what does. oh wait, yes i do. #%*&!!!photo 3[1]

these were obviously too sweet for the all male judging panel. if i had known my audience i would have incorporated a savory element to them, but who would have thought 3 dudes would have been judging a cookie bake off, are they really qualified? ugh!photo 5[1]

now, who wants to come to dc to help me celebrate being in my late 20s at the end of the week?

loser chewy chocolate chip cookie sandwiches (recipe adapted from apple a day)

3/4 cup butter, softened

3/4 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup sugar

1 egg

2 tsp vanilla

2 cup all purpose flour

2 tsp cornstarch

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

preheat oven to 350 degrees. cream together butter and sugar until fluffy. add in eggs and vanilla and mix.

add flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt and mix until evenly blended.

drop dough by the tbsp onto baking sheet. cook for 8-10 minutes, or until edges are just brown. do not cook for longer than 10 minutes.

let cool on sheet for 2-3 minutes and then move to wire rack to cool completely.

once completely cooled filled with your favorite buttercream! i love shortening buttercreams but these are your cookie sandwiches so you do whatever you want. just don’t enter these into any baking competitions because you will not win. i repeat, you will not win with these cookies.

yeah, i’m over it!   photo 4[1]

lastly, how about them redskins?!?!
