i put that $%!& in everything

the bachelor? oh boy, who is so excited for next week. don’t read us weekly this week if you don’t want to know what happens, they give it all away! couldn’t blog during the girls tell all, i had girls  my own girls over and i had to make sure they liked this pasta dish before i told you all to make it. i’ll have to make something really special for next week’s after the final rose since i already know who gets picked, don’t worry i won’t give it away! i’m thinking a rose cake!!

i ran across this awesome new blog a couple of months ago,  i’m new to the game, but you may have already heard of it, how sweet it is. this chick is hilarious, she cracks me up every time she post a recipe and i hope to be up to her level one day.  not to mention all of her recipes sound pretty kick a!

which brings me to my next point. on her site i found a recipe for a pasta dish that has frank’s red hot, duh, i’m making that! in the dc market they play frank’s red hot commercials non-stop on the radio and it has this grandma that says “i put that $%&* on everything!” hahaha, my nana would never have been caught saying that, but none the less i love that little ole lady and she reminds me of nana who could make a mean mac and cheese y’all!

now onto the pasta. when i saw the pics on her website it was so cheesy, mine, not so much. i was hoping it would be a mac and cheese, but it was definitely more of a pasta bake, so if you’re looking for a mac and cheese, grab a box of kraft, cause this ain’t no mac and cheese, but give it a shot, trust me you’ll still love it!

baked buffalo chicken pasta *idea from how sweet it is

1 lb pasta (i used whole wheat elbows)

3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cooked and cut into chunks

1 tbsp butter

1 tbsp flour

1 1/2 cups milk

4 oz freshly grated monterey jack cheese

2 cup freshly grated cheddar cheese, divided

1/3 cup frank’s red hot wing sauce

1/3 cup panko bread crumbs

salt and pepper to taste

preheat oven to 375 degrees. cook pasta according to directions on package.

while pasta is cooking, heat a medium saucepan over medium heat. add the butter and melt until bubbly then add flour. this is now your roux, cook for 1-2 minutes until mixture is golden brown. add milk, stir and turn down heat to low. continue to stir until milk thickens. add in jack cheese and 1/2 cup cheddar cheese and continue to stir until mixture is smooth. stir in buffalo wing sauce. add salt and pepper to taste.

spray a 9 x 13 baking dish with non-stick spray. add pasta chicken, then pour cheese sauce over and mix throughly until everything is coated. sprinkle with remaining cheddar cheese and bread crumbs. bake for 25 minutes or until cheese is golden brown. remove from oven, drizzle with buffalo wing sauce and serve!
